More About Lisa...

Lisa Murphy, LCSWLisa Murphy is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW #25280) who provides therapy to individuals struggling with anxiety disorders, insomnia, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), weight loss, and body focused repetitive behaviors.

Lisa has a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and a Master of Social Work from Washington University in St Louis. She has been licensed in Missouri, and then California and Utah, since 2003.

Lisa has specialized in Health and Mental Health in her academic and professional training and her entire career has focused on how these two areas affect each other.

Lisa began in psychiatric research for the Washington University Medical School. She then went on to work as a therapist, and later Clinical Director, of a therapeutic boarding school for obese teens and young adults before her current work in private practice.

Lisa’s passion is helping people heal from things that hold them back so they can move forward and establish healthier thought patterns, behaviors, and relationships.

She has received continuous post-graduate training in and has utilized Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) since 2005. These therapies unlock the potential we all have in our minds, bodies, and spirits to break distressing patterns and begin new, healthier ways of living in our bodies and existing in relationships.

Lisa is thrilled to provide online counseling in California and Utah.
